Our psychiatrists and psychologists at LifeCrest Medi Clinic provide a continuum of care for mental illnesses. From assessment to diagnosis, treatment recommendation, and treatment delivery, including specialized treatments such as rTMS. Coping with mental illness is challenging for both the person suffering from it and their family and friends.

In defining Mental health, the World Health Organization (WHO), identifying the following as what makes mental health: state of well-being, the realization of one’s abilities, ability to cope with the normal stresses of life, being productive, fruitful, and contribute to one’s community.

So, another way to look at a mental illness is to see it as an illness that causes the loss of all or some of the above qualities of life. Mental illness may lead to distress, impairment of or loss of one’s ability to function, and even risk to self and others.

The causes are not clear with any mental illness, but we know the key risk factors are biological, psychological, and social. These refer to the genetics, traumatic life experiences such as abuse, substance use, and brain chemistry.

The combination of social intervention, psychological treatment, and medicine is employed to treat mental illnesses.
